Aspen Technologies is growing rapidly and seeks a proven Production Supervisor to join our team of tier 1 manufacturers in Brighton, MI.   This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a company that offers longevity and career growth.

Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees. Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.  Trains, and mentors’ employees.

Job Title:  Production Supervisor

Schedule:  5:30am – 4:30pm First shift    4pm – 3am Second shift

Pay Range: $20-22 per hour (depending on experience)

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Under the direction of the Plant Manager, plans, assigns, directs, and coordinates activities relating to shift operations, including safety, quality, production, and employee relations
  • Supervises the daily work activities of Production Team Leaders and Production Team Associates including but not limited to planning, assigning, directing, and coordinating their day-to-day activities
  •  Assists the Plant Manager in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements
  • Trains new employees on their job duties and responsibilities, and cross trains as necessary
  •  Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and rotation schedules
  • Tracks and reports daily production, and drives improvements where necessary
  • Participates and leads process improvement projects:
  • Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to
  • Collaborates with Human Resources Manager in the administration of disciplinary action and employee reviews
  • Monitors, employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies (e.g., vacation, medical day etc.)
  • Provides timely feedback on work performance including but not limited to safety, housekeeping, quality, accuracy, quantity, attendance, punctuality, job knowledge, adaptability, initiative, teamwork, communication, judgment, and comprehension
  •  Supports and enforces the principles of Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner
  •  Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures
  • Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated
  • Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately
  • Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals
  • Supports quality department to insure quality assurance program is comprehended and adhered to
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or equivalent
 Minimum of three (3) years of production supervisory experience or a minimum of five (5) years of team leadership experience in an automotive manufacturing facility
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments
 Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
 Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines
 Working knowledge of Word, Excel
